He's lucky it's only 2 games. That's really vicious.

I gotta hand it to the Avs, that game became a nail biter. It took fortitude and some talent to come back and almost take that game.

Landeskog and MacKinnon are elite talents. The Avs have two of those. Some teams are lucky to have one (Ottawa for example).

I just wonder how this game could have looked if the Russian goalies were between the pipes, instead of the bench-riders.

I was at the game, it was an emotional roller coaster, very fun. Bernier was solid in the first and then decided he was done making saves afterwards. It was a great atmosphere though

Everyone enjoy moralizing about EJ, and you're not wrong he deserved the suspension fully. But if you are interested in context, he had just been called for slashing after the most blatant slash by Hedman on Mackinnon had still failed to prevent Mack from scoring, and Hedman grabbed the puck with his hand in the crease, the most blatant clear obvious penalty shot call in full view of two refs. The slash and grabbing the puck in the crease with his hand were both not called. The frustration as a fan is through the roof, I can only imagine what a heart and soul player like EJ feels. Soon as the refs arm went off for a ticky tack slash after what Hedman got away moments earlier in a game decided by 1 goal, EJ i believe lost his mind.

Funny how self righteous this had made everyone, ignoring completely how egregious that "judgement" call on the two Hedman fouls in the crease on the hottest player in the league were. Im glad Nemestnikov isnt hurt, and sad the incident will overshadow a perceived reffing bias every fan feels, but in Avalanche land has become all too real. If some of the more hysterical fanbases out there encountered the decisions coming from the Toronto war room Colorado has, it would be funny to see. Avs fans are so downtrodden after last year we just seem to take it like our destiny.
